Writing the third book of the John series produced a very long account of conditions, battles, and personal narrative that would not fit within the structure of the novel. First off, it was nearly 5,000 words long and second, it was the narrative of John’s friend Isaac VanMeter, not directly involving John. I did use a portion as Isaac returned from the war and visited John and Caitlin, but greatly reduced. I decided to put the entire narrative into a document in PDF format for those who
might be interested in an individual accounting of the very consequential battles in New Jersey.
