You have landed on the site of Daniel R. Vertrees.  I am a rather late comer to the world of writing, but have been telling stories all my life. As an educator, I often found that some sort of story was of great help to my students, whether that story was parabolic or strictly factual.  As an avid reader, I found myself most drawn to authors who wrote good tales, yarns – stories.  James Fenimore Cooper, Louis L’Amour, Bradbury, Asimov, Mellville, King all gripped me no matter the genre.  I also was taken by the tales set in the colonial period, based on actual events such as those penned by Alexander Thom.

series. Kindle Reader

Mr. Vertrees is an excellent writer! We read his first book and were anxious to get this one, his second in the series. Although his books are fiction, he weaves so much factual information into his storyline. I highly recommend this book to any reader who enjoys history and historical fiction. Great read! –  Satisfied reader
